Blah, blah, blah!

Tues February 23rd, 2010

Wow my first post of the year (shame on me!) I've decided to keep my updates more to the point and do all my babbling here.  If you haven't already noticed...I can talk, lol!

It's been a challenging few months in my life...for many reasons but I'll stick with music for now!  Save Me has become the song I love and love to hate all at the same time.  It is so personal yet I feel (and have been told) that it is very relevant for so many women.  The men have liked the music and most men I know don't listen to lyrics much!  I'm probably going to get into trouble for that statement!!  It seemed that once it came time to get the mix finalized we just couldn't find the right sound so the mastering (getting it ready for radio play) got put on hold and I started working on other songs.  When January came around my producer said "let me try something."  I had no idea what he was up to and then last week he let me hear it...he'd turned it into a dance song!  I loved it!  So far the few people that have heard it also loved it so my fingers are crossed that you will too!!  It'll be up by next week...you can let me know which version you like better.  The version you hear now is very rock and the new version will be very dance!!  Maybe you will like both!

This frustration, interestingly enough, caused me to revisit my choice in musical direction.  I now feel that pop/dance versus pop/rock is probably what you will be hearing more of from me in the future.  So.....I've decided I need to dance too!  Like really dance!!  Like put on a whole choreographed show with back-up singers and dancers too!!  Never a dull moment!  I had my first dance lesson today; I loved it; I'm excited! Life is good!  Fine with my Life is also getting a facelift to a pop/dance version but since you never heard that one yet it'll all be new for you.  Can't wait to hear what you have to say so please write!!

Until next time!

Well the weather is finally heating up in Toronto and I am getting ancy about getting some new music up and starting to perform live.  I was just offered an opportunity for a show in San Francisco, twist my arm, lol.  Hopefully I'll be able to pull off the logistics of it.

So, I decided that I missed the original version of Save Me; so I put it back up...cause, well, I can.  It is frustrating to keep pigeoning yourself into a specific genre when your
musical tastes vary and I will probably always be a "rocker chick" deep in my soul so let me know which version you like better.  Maybe you'll like both as I do.

xoxo, Katrina
